Summer Learning Through Our Public Libraries in a Time of COVID-19

May 20, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Many families rely on their public libraries during the summertime. In a time of a pandemic, public libraries will be closed during the summer months, and that includes the wonderful face-to-face programming they offer to their communities. How will the pandemic change traditional summer programs in libraries across the nation? What does a summer learning or summer reading program look like now? What can libraries offer that engage kids, relieve families, and restore communities? Common Sense Education invites you to learn how Allegheny County Public Libraries and San Francisco Public Library are reimagining summer programs as a result of the coronavirus.

This edWebinar will equip school administrators and classroom educators of all grade levels with resources for families. It will provide public librarians with strategies and resources to consider as you pivot to online programming in your communities.

This edWebinar will be of interest to librarians and teachers of all grade levels. There will be time to have your questions answered at the end of the presentation.
