Cyber Nightmares: Attacks, Breaches, and Leaks
October 20, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
The number of reported cyberattacks against K-12 has increased dramatically. Since 2016, the average amount of cyberattacks has equated to one attack per school day. With more than 90% of our nation’s school districts running a 1:1 initiative, our schools are more prone than ever to cybercriminal attacks and data breaches.
Add in that 91% of apps had at least one privacy policy change last year, and it’s clear why cybersecurity threats mount by the day. To address these challenges and offer take-home solutions for building your districts defense against cyberattacks, we’ve put together a panel of cybersecurity industry experts, in-house data privacy and security specialists, and K-12 IT professionals who’ve successfully implemented advanced cybersecurity measures in their district.
The panel will provide suggestions on handling these threats and building a secure foundation to prevent them. They’ll discuss:
- How and why K-12 schools are at risk for cyber attacks
- Technical protections districts can implement, from basic to advanced
- How to train your teachers and staff to be your first line of defense
- Best practices for protecting student data
All registrants, even those who cannot attend live, will receive a webinar recording.
