Standing for Infinite Potential through Technology, Infinitec is a member-based organization providing state of the art assistive technology, information, training, equipment services, and technical assistance to Illinois K-12 private and public school districts. Infinitec is a program of UCP Seguin of Greater Chicago, allowing it to propel the advancement of independence and promote inclusive opportunities for children and adults through technology.
For over a decade, Infinitec has worked closely with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to provide dedicated assistance in the form of training and technical services for assistive technology. These services are implemented at no cost to schools and families; currently servicing the 102 counties of Illinois.
Infinitec provides state of the art assistive technology, information, training, equipment services, and technical assistance. ENGAGE, Infinitec’s user-friendly learning management system allows administrators the ability to select and assign online training for staff to meet state mandates as well as earn credits.
With over 600 online professional programs and other online instructional resources offered, educators have the opportunity to learn about many physical and learning disabilities, including autism.
Assistive Technology Exchange Network (ATEN)
Infinitec provides assistive technology equipment statewide through the Assistive Technology Exchange Network (ATEN) project. Infinitec and ISBE partnered to establish ATEN in June 1995. This exchange network recycles technology by collecting equipment donated by corporations. This equipment is then refurbished and donated to Illinois public, private, and home-schooled students with disabilities free of charge.
Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
Allowing districts to access much-needed items for students, the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) program also distributes free motorized and manual wheelchairs, therapy equipment, canes, walkers, portable rams, shower benches, and many more items to assist with daily activities.
