Kick Off the New Year with LTC!

To kick off the 2021 New Year, the Learning Technology Center of Illinois has partnered with a number of vendors, services, and the Illinois State Board of Education to offer Illinois K-12 educators, technology staff, and administrators some key professional development opportunities.

SecurED Schools: January 13 & 14

SecurED Schools is a two-day professional development conference focused on data privacy and cybersecurity for K-12 Administrators, Technology Leaders, and IT Staff.

Technology and education leaders will learn about data privacy with an emphasis on SOPPA and cybersecurity requirements, policies, and best-practice strategies during engaging presentations and hands-on activities. Sessions focus on two main strands: Data Privacy and Cybersecurity.

Remote Learning Conference: January 14 & 15

The Remote Learning Conference is hosted by the LTC and the Illinois State Board of Education. It will showcase the best practices, pedagogy, apps, and tools for leveraging remote and hybrid learning, based upon the lived experiences of Illinois’ K-12 educators. This big event will spotlight Illinois educational pioneers as well as welcome three featured speakers from the national edtech community:

  • Educator and trainer Dr. Monica Burns (Host of Easy EdTech, creator of classtechtips.com)
  • Trainer and speaker Dr. Caitlin Tucker (author of Blended Learning in Action and Balance with Blended Learning)
  • Speaker and digital innovator Shelly Sanchez Terrell (author of Hacking Digital Learning Strategies and Learning to Go)
