Impero to Make Remote Monitoring Software Free to Districts in need of a Remote Learning Solution

Software allows teachers to manage students’ devices remotely

Austin TX, March 23, 2020 – In order to help teachers keep students on task throughout the school day, when they are at learning at home, Impero Software is making its Impero Education Pro web-based software free for the remainder of the school year to districts that do not already have remote monitoring software in place. The powerful cross-platform product combines tools for online safety, teacher control, and real-time monitoring and session tracking for student devices.

“The most important thing for schools right now is ensuring they have the tools available to support remote learning and we’re working to remove any barriers to that” says Justin Reilly, Impero CEO. “In order to conduct lessons remotely with a group of students who are on their devices at home, teachers need a remote classroom management solution that provides a live view of the student devices, alongside online safety and learner engagement tools to keep them safe and on task. As a former teacher, I am sympathetic to the challenges teachers are facing in this unprecedented time and we are working diligently to support schools. That is why we are offering this tool free for the remaining three months of the school year.”

Impero Education Pro is designed to enhance learning, support IT teams and safeguard students in the digital world. Teachers have access to key tools including live thumbnail view, broadcast screen, block list, live chat, and log viewer to ensure students receive continued access to education.

With the live thumbnail view, teachers can monitor student devices in real-time and interact, intervene and control as appropriate. Teachers also have access to a full log of what each student has accessed during the school day to make sure they are staying on task. And school IT staff can view the logs to make sure the devices they sent home are being used appropriately.

Impero Education Pro can be configured in several different ways to allow schools to monitor any remote student device and utilize its tools to enhance the virtual learning experience.

SPS’s Parent Company to Donate Consulting Hours to Help Schools Solve Remote Access Issues

Original Article: March 20, 2020 | Keith Larson

Student Provisioning Services (SPS) offers a cloud-based data integration system for managing student accounts that is fully automated, cost-effective, customizable, and scalable to meet the needs of future growth.

K12 Services, LLC -SPS’s Parent Company to Donate Consulting Hours to Schools in an Effort to Help Solve Remote Access Issues.

K12 Services IT Consulting We Can Help

Normally there is a cost associated with adding students and it is pro-rated for the time remaining in the school year, however SPS will waive any and all costs related to this for the remainder of this school year.

The classroom environment for K12 and Higher Education has really had to undergo some substantial changes over the last few weeks. In regards to storage, the schools that we interact with on a regular basis all are at different places on the curve from on-prem solutions to cloud-based solutions for classroom instruction and interaction with students. Districts that are already 1:1 have a distinct advantage when faced with closing physical school buildings and continuing to education online.

We are finding many districts have not embraced the move to the cloud, so now they are faced with solving the problem of allowing staff, and potentially students, access resources located in physical buildings that are closed now.

There are many ways to solve this, but the idea of setting up VPN access for hundreds of staff or students is daunting and very likely to be very difficult to manage and maintain. Fortunately, Condrey Corporation has a commercial product named Aurora that allows users to access their mapped drives to your on-prem servers through a browser from anywhere. They have a special COVID-19 offer where they will give any existing Condrey customers an Aurora license through May 2020 and any district even if they are not a customer today can get a license through the end of April 2019. At the end of these time periods, they will re-evaluate the situation.

For any school that wants to accept this offer to solve this remote access issue, K12 Services, LLC will donate the consulting hours necessary to install and configure this service for your district.  We want to come alongside your technology staff and help you to get through this crisis. This is a first come first serve offer, for a limited time.

Adobe Enables Distance Learning Globally for Schools Impacted by COVID-19

As Adobe’s education customers work to ensure both safety and learning continuity in their communities, it is the company’s goal to help them with the tools they need to move through these uncertain times. Adobe’s commitment to do so in a seamless way continues to be unwavering.

Therefore, Adobe has begun to offer free 90-day access to Adobe Connect, the web conferencing solution, until July 1, 2020. This offer gives users the ability to join meetings, trainings, and virtual classrooms from the safety of their homes.

Schools and districts who aren’t customers can now use Adobe Connect rooms with up-to 25 participants for free for up to 90 days if they sign-up for a trial license between now and 1st July. Adobe has taken care to evaluate and ensure the scalability of infrastructure for this greater support for streamlined, reliable access to the service throughout this period.

In addition, Adobe is making temporary at-home access to Creative Cloud as a whole. This offer is available until May 31, 2020, for schools and colleges who currently have only lab access for students, at no additional cost.

If you are the IT admin at a school that is preparing or already experiencing a closure, complete the form below to grant your students or teachers access at home.

This form allows you to request temporary access to CC desktop apps for students and teachers. Please note that only ONE administrator needs to request access for each Admin Console. Adobe will review your request and send you an email by March 20, 2020 or earlier, once your students and teachers have access.

To be eligible for this access, your school or college must be a current customer with an active Device, Shared Device License, or Serial Number plan. This at-home access is temporary and will apply to Adobe ID, Federated ID or Enterprise ID users in your Adobe Admin Console. The temporary licenses may be provided and removed at Adobe’s sole discretion.
