Don has spent the bulk of his career working in the private sector, but for the past 11 years he has been a leader in educational technology. For nearly the last 9 years Don’s served as the Director of Technology at West Aurora School District 129, where he oversaw a transformation from a district that didn’t have WiFi networks in all of its campuses to the 1:1 computing environment that exists today. Prior to that, Don was the Director of Instructional Systems at Community Unit School District 308. He also serves as the Vice-Chair of the CoSN Exam Committee, is a member of the CoSN’s Certification Governance Committee (the committee that oversees the certification program at CoSN, operating independently of the CoSN board), and serves on CoSN’s Awards committee.
In addition, Don is the President of CoSN’s Chapter in Illinois, the Illinois Educational Technology Leaders. He has served on IETL’s Board of Directors since the chapter was founded through the merger of the Illinois Chief Technology Officers organization with the Education Technology Council of Illinois in 2014. Don was a founding board member of ETC-IL; he has held the CETL certification for more than 4 years. He holds ITIL V.4 and CAPM certifications.
